How to use Sage
Tell Sage about your business in plain words. Sage asks one question at a time, the way Steve does in a mentoring session, to find the real problem before giving advice.
Round numbers are fine, and so is "I don't know." Sage will help you figure out what to look at.
Blue underlined text is a link to one of Steve's posts, videos, courses, or free downloads. Click it to read more; it opens in a new tab, so your conversation stays right where it was. Sage's question for you is set off with a gold bar on the left. Bold black text is just emphasis.
Keep it confidential. Don't share account numbers, Social Security numbers, passwords, or documents. Sage never needs them. When your real numbers or legal questions need a closer look, Sage will give you questions to take to your CPA, your lawyer, or a small business advisor.
Talk instead of type, if you like. Use your device's dictation: on Windows, press the Windows key + H; on a Mac, press the Globe (fn) key twice (or choose Edit > Start Dictation); on a phone or tablet, tap the microphone on the keyboard. Read it over before you send.
Get your summary anytime. Click Get my summary for what we covered, your action items, and every link.
Copy summary copies the summary, links included, to your computer's clipboard. Nothing is sent anywhere: open an email, a Word document, or a note and paste it (Ctrl+V, or Cmd+V on a Mac).
Save chat downloads the whole conversation to your Downloads folder as a web page; double-click the file and it opens in your browser, with clickable links.
Sage doesn't keep your conversation. Once you close the page, it's gone unless you saved it.
Want to come back after your homework? It's optional. Before you leave, click Save chat (under the chat box); the conversation downloads to your Downloads folder. When you're ready, open this page, click Continue a saved chat, and choose that file. Sage reads where you left off and asks how the homework went.
